Professor Sir Steve Jackson receives the 2026 Galen Medal in Therapeutics

Steve has been awarded the prestigious Galen Medal in Therapeutics by the Society of Apothecaries. The Medal is awarded for important services or contributions in the broad field of therapeutics. This can include treatments in clinical medicine or other clinically-related areas, therapeutic aspects of public health, and science leading to such treatments.

The 2026 Galen Medal was presented to Steve for his contribution to mechanisms of DNA repair and development of olaparib.

Steve said ““It is a great honour to receive the 2026 Galen Medal of the Society of Apothecaries in recognition of my contributions to medical research and translation. I am deeply grateful to the Society for considering me worthy of joining the list of past awardees, who have made seminal and transformative contributions to the therapeutic sciences over the past one hundred years.”
